My first work's pension is final salary, and I have 12 years in it

When were you in this scheme? You have a deferred final salary pension? You were almost certainly contracted out of SERPS/S2P.

I was in a final salary scheme from 1994 to 2006, and it is deferred. I do have money showing on the SERPS part of the statement, only about £10 though. I guess this is because I'm paying into it now (being on a newer investment type of pension). This would be for the last 6 or 7 years. Sounds about right, given that they quote around £1.75 per year.
