Gardening Basket Ideas?

Hi all im struggling for some inspiration.....I know its only may but im trying to be organised this year for xmas.
Im doing a joint basket for my mum and dad which is going to have a gardening theme. So far I have bought
Mulit tool pruner reduced to £1.99 (£6.99)
Practical gardening book with trowel reduced to £1.50 (£6.98)
Fancy tin with 3 jars of preserve reduced to £1.00
Garden twine free
Garden gloves 2 pairs £2.98 (should of been £3.99 each)
Knee pads reduced to £0.25
set of 4 hand tools for potting seedlings reduced to £0.25
hand rake reduced to £0.25
garden tidy mitts reduced to £0.25
3 x seed pkts Free

Its quite a large basket to fill as its for 2 of them but im running out of ideas.
any suggestions ???

Wow that sounds great. Where did you get all your mega cheap tools from? I'm trying to one for my mum I've put in gloves, seeds, a book and some hand cream so far but like you struggling for more inspiration!!!!

Wow the baskets you need to fill must be massive! ha ha! Sounds like you have bought loads already.

How about an anti-bug mug? Like THESE. These ones are pricey but I am sure you could find cheaper ones.

the little garden ornaments are cheap in morrisons/gardening mag subscription/more seeds/pots/seed trays/watering can bit stuck myself now

Wow, being a gardener, I think this is a wonderful idea for a present. I know I'd love it.
The only other thing I can think of adding would be a bottle of wine for them to sit in the garden and enjoy after all their hard work.
Would it all fit into a garden trug? You know the kind that you use for collecting veg etc?

MINIMONEYSAVER the tools were all mega cheap from tescos.....they been having a fantastic sale on gardening bits and bobs was very lucky indeed.

JAYAR the basket that i have is a large square on with a cary handle which i believe is for collecting vegetables. they have just recently changed the garden to start home growing veg so i thought this would be the perfect gift for long term use. I also thought about a bottle of wine and getting my 2 daughters to handpaint some wine glasses but they already have a well stocked wine rack so thought maybe a bit pointless.

No worries - I think the garden boules are a winner - they are such a bargain! We were bought some last year and they are fab to get out when people bring their kids round x

What about buying a hanging basket now as there is such variety in the shops at the moment & then decorating the outside into a Xmas theme i,e: Red ribbon, silver/gold decos, you could then add your gifts into the basket or get some fishing line and dangle them from the basket

I did a wedding hanging basket last year & used white netting and silver bows on the outside & then filled it with white flowers, it was stunning and lasted until October.

How about a voucher for garden centre, garden candles, solar lights, small bag compost, herb garden seeds. Now i'm stumped but will keep thinking.
