Topping up an ISA

I have a Halifax ISA. The Halifax Web site says
You can only subscribe to one cash ISA in a tax year. This means that you can’t divide your tax-free cash savings allowance between more than one cash ISA. Because this cash ISA already contains funds added in the current tax year it is the only cash ISA you can top up.
So if I have ALREADY have two ISAs (opened in different tax years), I can't deposit money into both ISAs in the next tax year?
What if I deposit money into an existing ISA and then want to open a new ISA in the same tax year? (Obviously keeping within the total yearly limit for both combined).

You can open as many ISAs as you want in the same tax year, you just cant contribute to more than one. But take care not to open a new ISA with any new money in the same tax year.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

You can open an unlimited number of ISAs, with partial or full transfers from existing ISAs. There is no limit to the number of ISAs you can have or open in any year.
But you can only put NEW MONEY into one ISA in each tax year. The only exception is that if you have deposited new money, you can transfer an ISA in full during the tax year to another institution, and then continue putting new money into the new account (but not into the old account as well).
You can't put any new money into another ISA that year iWe need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
