Exact same thing for me, 3 red lights.Been in touch with Consumer advice (North east) said to send recorded delivery letter to retailer giving them 14 days to repair or replace, which I've done today.

Hey guys.
I know a mate of mine who buys cheap 3 red light dead 360's and manages to fix them and re-sell etc or fix them for people straight off!
I wont give away any info about him but it IS possible to fix these very cheap so I would trust a company who claims they can fix them.
Its to do with a fan/heatsink on the GPU usually, and they can go in and replace them... (or somehitng like that!)
Good luck[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

If I've had the Xbox already replaced and the replacement has broken down. Who does it go back to, Game or Microsoft under the SoGA.
Plus i've just discovered the original receipt was written on disappearing ink, its now unreadable.
Fun & games

I believe that the answers is: If you have had a replacement and it came with a new 12 month warrenty (which it should have done) then the answer is to contact Microsoft who should repair it free of charge. If however it is out of that 12 month warrenty (which I suspect it isn't) then contact the retailer.0

With regards repairing them yourself, there was numerous video's on Youtube showing how its done.....not my cup of tea but it works, you need a hot air gun and all it does is re-melts the 'cheap' solder Microsoft used on the early consoles0

Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

This could easily be a fake fix.
I got the 3 red lights once. I turned it off. Turned it on, left it for a bit, turned it off, turned it on and it worked fine and hasnt come back.
So sometimes the 3 red lights come but dont mean its fully dead as it will work again. Now lets say those 3 people thought it was fully dead so wrapped it in a towel.... see where I'm going?[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

The wrapping in a towel causes heat to build up and aparently repairs the dodgy solder points.
I know a few people that fix the solder joints, but it still doesnt mea people should not be forcing shops to stick to the sales of goods act, each person that gets it repared or buys another xbox are allowing Microsoft to turn round and produce faulty goods without any come back.0
