You copy your music videos books and anything else you want to Ext SD Card . Best in labelled folders just connect via USB and open the eternal sd card Labeled CARD in windows explorer cut and paste .

Downloads often an option to download to internal or external SD card in settings .

Internal is what the phone has inbuilt . Ext SD is your add on card .

Despite searching, I can't find a mini usb cable (usb/mini connection) so until I can shop, I'm stumped. But, googling I read about "file managers" in particualr Astro, and viw that route a cable isn't required. The thing is, I need it to be very simple, so any route other than simple is out of my league. You may wish to pass comment if you have used either of these ways to transfer from laptop to android tablet.

Check your curent usb cables, often a phone will fit it, like a smart phone, as most will be on mini usb. If no go with that, look in places like poundstretcher, or home bargains. If you have a card reader (say for a camera) you could put the small card into the big card adaptor and then into the card reader, and transfer that way as well.

Iplayer you can try to download the programs using Download (on each page) then select the download for portable devices. If that doesn't work, no idea, as i've never got that to work on my ipad. anything else like music you can just copy it over, like mp3's etc.

PS, I now have cable and the sd card, so will google for free films and attempt a download to tablet.

All together now, "what a dumbo!".

I found a free film music site, decided which film I would experiment with, then inserted SD card then the USB lead and then WHOOPS, it wasn't a micro femail! so back to the shops tomorrow to buy another, thank goodness this one only cost 99p.

I told you I needed special treatment to get me through this.ha ha

or... does your laptop have a normal size SD card slot on it? many do.

In that case power off the tablet first (always a good idea) pop the microSD card out and put it in that adaptor that came with it. It will now fit in a normal SD card slot if your laptop has one, it will appear as a new drive in windows explorer and you can copy files onto it.

Don't just pull it out when finished ;) as it could get corrupted, easiest way is just to right click on the drive in explorer and select 'eject' - once it disappears from explorer it is safe to physically pull out and put back in the tablet.

Please please be careful downloading "free" films. Pretty much there is nothing that offers free (decent!) films for no cost that is legal.

You dice with spyware, malware, viruses downloading from certain sites, and it can get you into trouble.
