If you have a tablet which has 3G. And you have a SIM with 3G allowance (either PAYG/Contract) then you will be able to access without WiFi but where there is strong mobile signal.

This is the one I have, but I only pay £10 a month because I haggled it down. I use it on my train journeys, but when I get on the tube I use Virgin Medias WiFi.
Or buy one of these (No contract) 90 days usage from first usage...

I'm a recent convert to Android tablets.
First thing I did was to get a 32Gb memory card, nothing worse that not having enough storage.
Now install your apps....most apps work offline.I have a couple of newspaper apps that download the latest news in the morning before I go out and then read offline later.
Then I installed a few e-book readers and downloaded some books....you can get free e-books from your local library.
Then I've loaded a dozen or so films onto the tablet.
If you're into games the play store has a massive choice.
You can do all this on wi-fi so no charge and then you've got plenty of stuff to be doing when you're not online.
Want to go online when you're away from your wi-fi connection ? Well if your mobile phone allows tethering use the data from the phone and connect your tablet to the the phone via wi-fi and you're good to go, just watch your data usage.
Having read your post, I will now price out 32Gb memory cards, but before that, am I right in thinking it is inserted in the micro SD slot and left there? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Wide range of prices in 32 Gb memory cards. Looked at Ideal World (where I bought my tablet from), then Amazon, the Hotukdeals and they are all widely different. I don't need the "best" or a brand leader, just one that will do what I want, store downloads (I'm not into games)
I had forgotten the word "micro" so have started again looking for a 32GB card and via hotukdeals, someone has found one £8 + at tesco which seemingly is a bargain. Then came the " class speed " question, so how important is this? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I've had bad experiences with non branded sd cards,so I always go for a Sandisk......pretty much any class will work0

Branded yes but i refuse to buy Sandisk to many problems .
Even their latest 64GB is a failure .
Class Minimum performance
Class 2 2 MB/sec
Class 4 4 MB/sec
Class 6 6 MB/sec
Class 10 10 MB/sec
Class 4 as a minimum

I'd echo sandisk, not had problems with them. Watch when you buy any branded card as they are highly counterfeited items and with that comes workmanship and size problems. I don't mean from reputable sellers, I mean from ebay, amazon marketplace (not amazon direct) and play marketplace. Also in general in store is Stupid prices, online from places like play.com (themselves) or amazon (themselves) are reasonable prices.
class 4 and up would be fine, but please make sure your tablet will support upto 32GB disks before you buy one.0 -
Yes, just re-read leaklet and it states "up to 32Gb"This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I've got the mini sd 32gb card now (Kingstone) and it came with an adapter. (don't know how that is used). Once the sd card is in, what then? If I wanted to download something from iplayer for example, how is this done? This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
