Can a landlord remove/reduce a service (Sky) at his/her discretion?

Hi there,
I've lived in a househare for close to 2 years. When I moved in, the room was advertised as having the full Sky package, and this was one of the reasons I decided to move on. All bills are included as part of the rent.
The landlord has now decided to reduce the Sky package to Sky basic, with no reduction in cost, due to the increasing costs of Sky.
Can he do this? There is no mention of Sky in the contract, but seeing as the room was advertised with Sky and it's been there for the duration of the contract, it's now implied?
Thanks for any advice

Actually I didn't.
Previously the landlord wanted to remove the service but compensate us in terms of rent reduction. (which is probably fairer game than the below)
Now the landlord wants to reduce the service without any compensation.
It's a key difference I'd assume.0 -
No. The legal implications are the same. Potential change to terms of contract.
See previous thread.0 -
What is the best cause of action to take, over than just emailing the landlord and suggesting that they are potentially changing the terms of contract?0

...also, does the LL not have an argument that if the cost of Sky has increased that they no longer have to include it as part of the rent?0

Or offer to pay the extra it cost for the full package.
If it is so important to you that you need the full package then that is what I would do.0 -

LL not interested in letting us do this.
I'd rather just interested in replies addressing where I can stand and how I can block this reduction in service.0 -
in general you have the right to negotiate because one party to the contract is proposing a change to the contract. if you can't agree then your realistic options are limited, most of what you could do will revolve around court, meaning you should consider the possibility of a retailitory eviction. Best to pursue a dialogue!0

the cost of court would probably pay for a years worth of SKY , at least!Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0

but you still get Sky so he is still providing that service, even if it is reduced Sky your still getting it.
LL wins, also becuase it is not in your contract with the LL.0
