Just a quick post to extend sympathy to Julie. I am so sorry for your loss and how awful to have to tell the others about it. Have a hug.

Hello everybody and hugs to all who need them especialy Julie (I've had to do that, not nice); foreversaving with good wishes for you Dad and hugs to Hilstep, Molly and LW and anyone who would like one.

Sunny here and not as cold BUT incredibly windy; cutting up the stuff to put in the green bin today and it was blowing all over the place. Managed it and the bin is now full - we compost so it's only full when we have garden clippings from hedging/shrubs. Also cleaned the cooker and kitchen doors today and had some work earlier. Having my fave smoked haddock poached tonight as OH is at football.... yummy! Might make the veggie curry as well for tomorrow. Also my wedding sampler has arrive - very quick :j and I've been invited to an event hosted by Professor Brian Cox! :j free bar as well. Mr Rage has said we'll catch the bus there:rotfl:We've been to these events before and they also serve lovely pies so we might partake of a couple and then on into town for a rare night out.... as we'll have eaten and had some drinks already it should be cheapish if we stick to our real ale pubs... Nothing else really to report.... Hope everyone has a nice evening...
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

  • Julie - I am so sorry to hear that news.

My own dad died very suddenly age 55, he was in the house on his own watching the rugby and had a massive heart attack. I found him when I got home from shopping and about one hour later, had to break the news to my mum when she came home. We had to have an inquest because he had not been to the doctors for years, I was dreading it but the coroner actually made me feel much better in a way by telling me it was by far the best way to die, you know absolutely nothing about it. Of course the other side of this is it's kind for the person who dies but so very sad for those left behind. There is another side to everything, no chance to say goodbye but no suffering either.

Love and hugs to you and your family.

Julie hugs to you and yours, what awful news, and to have to be the bearer of such must have been hard!

Well, first day at work decluttered, hardly slept a wink last night for fear of sleeping in, so am absolutely shattered, thank crunchie for phased return! Hate to think what I will be like after a full shift!
Son has an appointment for this Saturday afternoon for his MRI scan, so wondering if they are being super-efficient or if there is something seriously wrong with him, hopefully the first option!
Right, have pork simmering in a barbecue sauce, DD won't be home from work till after 7, wonder if I should wake myself up with a shower???????????????????????????

    Evening all,

Thanks so much for all your kind words, it really means a lot. I know this kind of things touches many families, it can be such a cruel world sometimes.
I'm just finding it very difficult that my son is dealing with it and having to be the strong one for his wife and her mum and I'm not there to support him. He has rung a lot though and I'm really very proud of him. It's just so sad that my DIL dad won't get to see the new baby in October. It would have been his first grandchild.
This afternoon I have rung round and taken out some life insurance for both of us. It's something I've wanted to do for a few years and kept putting it off because of lack of funds or it will never happen to us syndrome.
I feel much happier now that the policy is in place. It may never happen to us but at least if it does, whoever is left behind will be able to financially survive.
Anyway thanks again your a wonderful lot, hoping to sleep a little better tonight, I promise no miserable posts tomorrow, normal service will be resumed.
