Ive fed the kids and cleaned up what i can downstairs. I'll start upstairs when the girlfriend has gone. Her clothes are everywhere! I noticed when she came down for breakfast she is wearing odd socks.:rotfl:Love it! A girl after me own heart!
Just whilst i am thinking about it. It has been noted that my cooking skills have vastly improved since i came off my anti-d's. I havent heard 'Whats this?' or 'is it supposed to look like that?' for about a week.:T
Give it time.

Afternoon all,
I'm so sad, we had some horrible news yesterday. My new DIL's dad in Australia who is also a very good friend died suddenly of a massive heart attack aged 48. What a horrible waste, a lovely guy with such a lot to live for.
Sadly there was no one here to inform his parents so it fell to me and my dh. It's the worst thing I've ever had to do and hope I never have to do it again.
The whole family are distraught, such a shock. It really puts things in perspective. Sorry can't think about much else just now. Will pop back later. I think I will bake this afternoon. It always soothes me.
Bye for now:(Started Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

(((((Julie))))) I'm so very sorry - what a terrible thing to happen, and how awful to have to be the bearers of the sad news. I guess the only tiny scrap of comfort is that it was quick; he wouldn't have had time to suffer. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

Julie67 - so sorry to hear such sad news and so sudden. It's always awful having to tell loved ones that someone has passed away, I don't envy you one bit, but I'm sure the family are grateful to you for telling them asap, as if you or I were in their position I would want to know asap. (I don't mean that to sound flippant or unfeeling but I hope you get wat I'm trying to say).
Sending thoughts and hugs to those in pain/suffering or sad x

Good afternoon all,
Julie, what awful news. My thoughts are with you and your family.
My Dads hospital visit didn't go as he thought. After having an xray ten days ago and put on crutches because there was tissue damage, it seems the hospital have changed their mind. He has a big boot thing that he has to wear, just take it off for shower/bath and for bed and is still on the crutches for another six weeks. Since looking at the old x ray and having another one today they have said he has a stress fracture in his foot. Got to go back mid may for another x ray and see what happens then.
Fish for tea tonight with roasted veg.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Julie...How awful, what a shock, that is such a young age, my sympathies to all of you x
I didn't manage to post on the daily yesterday so I will give you a quick catch up on what happened on my birthday.
Hospital went fine, they said that I am very short sighted -11 and -10 no **** Sherlock, I could have told them that, but I have the beginning of a cataract and I have blepheritis, but luckily no retina damage:j so they have discharged me back to optician and GP care.
DH took me for a meal at our local Harvester as a treat and it was a complete disaster
I asked for a well done steak, when it got to me it was rare _pale_ but burnt on the outside, so I sent it back and it was returned to me butterflied and even more singed and still pink in the middle, and the rest of the meal was ruined because they had just put it in a warmer while they were cooking the steak, I complained again and they said oh we will take it and cook it a bit more  this was the final straw, burrefry:mad: completely lost it and told them to take it and shove it. The cost of my meal was taken from the bill but it still ruined my birthday treat so I have complained to head office, the serving staff were brilliant, but the chef should be spit roasted over his own grill
