Data Protection

The Bank broke 2 6 and 10 out of the 11 FSA guidelines rules which Lloyds are signed up too? They broke the Data Protection act by revealing to my partner my financial status and ultimately destroyed our trust in each other which resulted in a temporary break up in our relationship!!. I am claiming compensation and Lloyds have asked me how much am I asking for??.....I have asked for around £5000 which is not a substantial amount considering they have taken every bit of trust my partner and I had for each other, they are responsible for us having a temporary break up, they asked my partner about whose money I had intended taking out whilst making a transaction after admitting that they had made a mistake and taken cash from his cash ISA and given it to me by mistake.....etc.. etc.. etc..the list is endless!! Has anyone ever received this amount of compensation and if so under what circumstances??

The typical award by the FOS for a data protection act breach is £50-£250.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
