Tesco Mobile

Advice please!
Both my wife and I got Nokia Lumia 800 handsets on contract with Tesco Mobile. Over the past 4 months, we have had issues with sending/receiving picture messages. Lats night, the technical support team finally gave up and authorised replacement phones. The issue is that they want our old phones back before they will send out replacements which means that we will be without phones for a minimum of 7 working days. This is apparently to prevent me keeping both phones and is the Tesco "process".
I have asked them to send the new ones to our local store for a 1-4-1 exchange or my credit card details as security but they are refusing to budge.
Do I have any rights that entitle me to a temporary handset (as other networks provide) or to expect a replacement before sending the old one back so that I am not without a phone for over a week?
Many thanks!

No...you will have to buy a couple of backup handsets. You can pick them up for almost nothing. Other networks provide handsets as a goodwill gesture you can't expect every network to do the same.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

Replacement handsets as a contractual right are generally restricted to business contracts. Can't you just manage with an old basic handset for a week? Most houses have several sitting in a drawer, unused and unloved.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • Many thanks for the advice. I'll have a dig around the kitchen drawer and see what I can find!
  • Incidentally if you are sending picture messages to each other you might be better off with a messaging app like whatsapp instead?

Is it not cheaper to attach photographs to e-mails?

Also have you put the ip in the mms settings
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
