Estate agent has told us there was a mix up between seller & their solicitor, both were waiting for each other to make more contact
This was Wednesday, and we rang our solicitors again today.
Still nothing.
ARRGGGGHHHH!
You have to give them a deadline.
After all this messing about I would say next wednesday, giving you a bit of time to get things moving again the following weekend0 -
When did your surveyor do the survey? Sellers often wait until after that has been carried out before starting the process.
Apart from that, the process is that the seller's solicitor drafts the contract and transfer of title and posts it to the seller. She will then have to post it onto the ex, to sign and post back to the solicitor. We've had the Easter break in between, which means that the solicitor's office will have been closed for part of that time, and just because she has been at home over Easter it doesn't mean the ex hasn't been away.
To be honest, with two sellers involved who live in different places and possibly don't communicate with each other, a month isn't a long time.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
Ask your solicitor to ring the vendor's solicitor, sometimes it's best to cut out the middle person, ie the EA for now.
We had to do that due to endless faffing about from our vendor's solicitor and our solicitor phoned them up and told them off, she's very scary. Things started to move after that:D0
