Resurrected thread from April, Carol. ;)
  • Hi please help, not sure if I post here?

I received a parking ticket at the Peel Centre in Stockport back in June. I bought a ticket but I put the wrong car reg in (I put the opposite car reg to what we were in). With advice I ignored all post from them, until I received a court notice for Northampton Court. This was real! I had mediation today to try and resolve which didn't work. So I have a court hearing for Jan. will I win? If so shall I do a counter claim for my wasted income etc? In my defence I paid for 1 space and used 1 space.

    Appreciate any advice

  • Hi ok'd help,
Iv received a parking ticket at the peel centre Stockport on the 11 march. I went with my mum who has a blue badge and parked in a normal space as it was nearer to we're we wanted to go and displayed the badge. I have now found out you still need to buy a ticket but we didn't see any signs saying so . What do I do? Ignore letters? Phone and say we didn't see anything? I need to replay by sat or it goes up to £100
    Advice pls

#1 Read the NEWBIES sticky thread (as we tell ALL new posters)

#2 Start your OWN new thread (as we tell ALL new posters, who DON'T do this).

    :)

But, please please don't just randomly start a new thread before reading up on the Peel Centre and the sticky thread for 'NEWBIES' to read first. I make no apology for the fact that the sticky thread has a sentence yawning about how boring the new unnecessary threads about the Peel Centre every flippin' day are, all from posters who could simply have searched this forum for the keyword 'Peel'. I beg people NOT to start a new thread about it again...

I am convinced there's nothing more to be said about the Peel Centre that's not already been said, so once you have read the sticky thread and learned how to appeal and win at POPLA, and read other Peel threads, I would be astonished if you need to start a thread about your case at all.

Don't get me wrong - we want everyone to beat this scam and we are glad you've come here to win the appeal - but the info is already here so many times over.

  • October 2014 I paid to park at the Peel Centre. However, I did not put my registration in but because it issued a ticket (which I displayed)I thought I was ok. 2 weeks later had a parking charge through the door. I knew I had paid and explained this to Excel parking who told me unless I had kept the original parking ticket I had to pay the fine. I told them I was appealing and they then wrote and told me it would increase the fine by £35.00 making it £100.00. I just had an email from POPLA and I won my appeal. I would have been prepared to go to court as I feel that that the company use unfair bullying tactics to get people to pay charges. In my appeal the main point stated was that the land owner had not lost any money as I had paid the fee and it was on that point that I won my appeal. It does cost the company £35.00 or thereabouts when you make an appeal so now Excel or the landowner now have to pay.

Glad you won but remember there was never any "fine" involved.
  • I forgot not fine. Charge thank you for the reminder. :)
