A couple of weeks ago a nice lady called to say if i paid my full balance and set up a dd she would give me £20 off my bill. I explained i was on benefits and i didnt get it till 4 days later but would be happy then and she agreed. I called up on the thursday and got an up to date amount and it was £43.xx with £20 and any other alterations taken off.( got my phone and tv taken out day before so odd figure) i paid this and got the dd set-up. I have received a bill for this month which i was expecting to be £27 + phones charges(£12). It turns out it is £62. I called tonight and the lady said £13 had been brought forward from last month plus £10 late payment fee added. When i explained myself to her she said
that they dont give £20 off for setting up dd and the £20 discount had been for partial service when i disputed this and asked for the call to be pulled she said it probably wasnt recorded. So i had to push her for the compaints address and will have to cancel my dd and get £5 added as i cant afford to pay £62 out of my £110 benefits and i cant afford to let it bounce so i get charged.
Just when i thought they were doing me a favour they stab me in the back, anyone else had success in complaints from them and should i give them 14 days or going to ofcom or watchdog?
thanks all
