I spent a whole £1.60 today and even got a free bacon butty out of my friend. Have stopped automatically offering to pay for things and offer to do 50/50 instead, instead of making me feel pathetic I feel kind of empowered.
    .

Hellooo Blackangel, I used to pay most of the time for things for my friends and other people.. 'No noo, it's fine, I'll get that'

When I look back at it now I must have spent a fortune, it was silly really. I do like you now the 50/50 thing.

It's so easy to slap a piece of plastic down on the counter isnt it, after a while it doesnt feel like real money I found. What I have found empowering is bugdeting and paying debit or cash for things instead. Looking back at it now, I just can't see how I got into so much (38G) debt, when I can see how easily I can live now just by paying attention to how what and when I am spending. It's sad to see so much money being scoffed in interest, money you had nothing to show for.

I try to keep in mind how much money I will have once my debts are gone (years yet), I'll have LOADS to use very wisely, It's just going to take a me long time to get there. But i'm really looking forward to it!.

The only thing that is making me worry abit at the moment is the interest price hike on some of my cards (how many more? eek!)

Bloody hell, listen to me.. I was trying to cheer you up, think it worked?
haha, Keep up the GREAT work!
I'll get my SOA on here soon
I'm £38.000 (2 loans and lots of cards) in debt. I'm still able to pay all the payments for now. (just) and am Snowballing my payments, throwing all I can at them, and trying to be very money savvy. They are coming down SLOWLY, but hey! down is better than UP right? Light bulb moment - Jan 2007
