sometimes you need to use it somewhere else?

Why rip us off we are just people wanting to use bb?

As aforementioned, you can use mobile broadband. £10 or so for the modem and then you can purchase a package. For instance £2 for a day's usage with T-Mobile.

You can do a similar thing with O2 mobile broadband, but they also include unlimited usage of BT OpenZone Hotspots as well as O2 Hotspots. Of course you still have a mobile broadband allowance.

No body is ripping you off. You are choosing, not being forced, to use a dearer service. You also picked out their dearest package when it was pointed out there are cheaper packages. However we don't know if you need it for a few minutes per day or a month do we? 'The Cloud' is free in many locations, MMB will probably work out cheaper then BT Wi-Fi, all this has been pointed out. We have done the legwork for you now use the results.

Yes we know. You don't need smart phone to get internet access. I started out on the mobile internet path using a Nokia 6150!

Nowadays I use a MBB dongle and / or a Mi-Fi as listed above.

But not one listed in that link. They are all 'contract' modems.

One could purchase this T-Mobile USB modem for £11.74 and...

12 months of mobile internet(500 MB of data and unlimited browsing) £23.09

You can get a slightly better modem here for £14.99.
