Big thanks to Martins tips, When I saw the flight compensation thing a while ago I thought I'd have a go for a cancelled flight with Lufthansa in 2009 and after a couple of emails and 2 telephone conversations with their representative (they called me) about a week ago LH had put £431.74 in my bank account pretty much all I'd asked for :j, So thanks Martin your a star.
