Natwest no longer show transactions immediately, do other banks?

The only other institution I've known to do this is Capital One.
On my Capital One Mastercard I can click to see all pending transactions. From there, I can see exactly what has been authorised and at what date and time.
I find it a very useful breakdown during the 2 or 3 days it takes to hit the statement.
I wish other companies would do likewise.
I have a Capital One account and am aware of his (although I have sufficient funds and credit limits not to be bothered by pending transactions 99% of the time)
State Bank of India update debit card transactions "in real time" and Bank of Baroda are quite quick if that that is what people are looking for (for debit cards)
also some prepaid cards may offer this facilityHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
I've been with Natwest as a customer now for 12 years, and I've never had the facility to see my transactions before they have fully debited my account. My accounts were based in Glasgow (now London because of the failed Santander sale), I wonder if that is possibly why.0

The only way for a card provider to update ALL transactions is for EVERY transaction to go for FULL authorisation.
That can mean NO USE at pay @ pump etc, as these do not auth for the full amount.
Maybe this is why NW are dropping this system, as it is causing a large load on their internal systems.
So its going to come down to cost.
Customers complaining = odd one will leave. Most will chunter and do nothing.
FOS won't care as its not something that matters.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -

I've noticed this with Natwest as well. Everything regular that goes in and out of my current account is already on my spreadsheet (projected out to the end of 2015, add new transactions as I make them and update the balance daily) so I don't have a problem with the 'available' balance. I just put the pending stuff in a different colour as I mark off the completed transactions. I like being a geek

NatWest only did this using solo and online (blue) Visa Debit.
The authorisation showed up like a card debit and then dropped off when actual debit was processed. The payment was not actually processed any quicker.I've been with Natwest as a customer now for 12 years, and I've never had the facility to see my transactions before they have fully debited my account. So we'll then get lots of "how long does it take until my card is credited" "I have not spent the money but it's been taken/stolen from my bank" "FRAUD on my account" "ripped off by Natwest" etc etc etc posts.
I hope Natwest will not succumb to pressure.
People do have to learn to assume 100% responsibility for their financial affairs.
Why is that even relevant? We did have the instant service, now we don't. They didn't tell us or ask us about this change. The instant online banking was why i went with Natwest over the slow updating Co-op for a basic account. Now Co-op is better because their basic account allows you to withdraw from any cash machine and use pay at the pump type services, unlike Natwest.Internet earnings:

Am I missing something? I haven't noticed any change to the way transactions are processed. I use my card, it comes off my available balance, then debits a few days later. Thats the way its always beenDebt free and staying that way! :beer:0

This change only effects blue debit card holders. As you have a full authority debit card you wont notice any difference.
