Absolutely true Savage. I tried for three years to 'revive' a failing business - the Banks were absolutely no help - credit cards up to the limit, with higher charges than the minimum monthly payment - arguments with Black Horse Finance - DCAs - Inland Revenue - VAT - the list is endless.
NOT ONE SINGLE CREDITOR ADVISED ME TO TAKE INDEPENDENT ADVICE.
I had never even considered bankruptcy, until it was forced on me.
Had I been aware that Bankruptcy was a possibility - I would (or should) have chosen it three years ago.
It seems, to me, that creditors are happier to let you run up more debt, in the form of 'unlawful' penalty charges, and higher interest, in order to minimise their risks, rather than to offer constructive advice, or help.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
