Which is exactly why he is unlikely to apply for the job advertised further up, that and the fact the salary is less than he had decided he needs to live on.

Right I am applying for any job that I look as if I can do and I will work my way towards getting a job at a university.

You know why I talk about my problems here because it is the only place I can express my worries away from upsetting my family. I can not talk openly and freely to people in real life about them because I feel too ashamed to tell my friends I feel so awful.

I do not go on because of the sake of it but I feel here is the open place where I can talk frankly about my feelings and worries without upsetting people in my life.

Funnily enough my daughter took a walk through the local Uni last week and put her CV in...

    the hairdresser
    the dentist
    the doctor
    the book shop
    the food shop
    the restaurant
    the cafe
    the bar
    the union
    the kitchen
    the nursery

missed out maintenance as she couldn't find them

I do listen, I am just very stubborn and it takes me a while to get over my stupid idea. I got it in my mind that it was a job at university or nothing. However, after looking at the job centre I have found there are many jobs that are better than Uni ones and ones where I can get promotion much more easily than a Uni job ever would give.

like i said phil this is not the place, go and seek a depression forum, all you do on here is get the pi$$ took out of you and quite franky i think everyone is sick and tired of your moaning, and complete disregard for others who take the time to actually help you.
I have serious mental issues but you dont see me constantly maling repetative threads about it.
Why???????? Because MSE is not the place for it, i am a member of a depression help forum and trust me it's a big help, so for christs sake give it a rest and go get some help somewhee else coz this is getting beyond a joke now.

I must admit private sector jobs that I have found seem less caught up in having lots of qualifications and many of the jobs do not want as much experience as public sector jobs do. But that was another one of my dogmatic ideas I could never work for the private sector as it just does not have the right values. I think now I listened and looked into a bit that the private sector seems better in the sense that you are more likely to get promoted as you are not so much stuck in fixed pay grades as public sector jobs are.
