It would help if you let us know which operating system you have.Presuming its xp, you could always insert the xpdisk and do a repair, possibly fixboot will do...
I have nothing better to do!!!!

Try starting up in safe mode and running virus checkers and spyware programmes before you do anything else. If you find any problems, deal with them and then re-run the programme again, just to make sure.0

I have just picked up my sons computer as it was doing the same thing with the blue screen. It was a data cable problem and they just charged my £4 to put a new one in. Hope this helps as it may just be the same problem so its cheap to get replaced.0

A lot of the Google answers suggest a problem with Linux, Kubuntu etc. with the exact problem you have. Is xp the only operating system on this machine?
I have nothing better to do!!!!

Aha,
It was my hubbys PC and yes ,it has linux on it
I can't ask hubby as he ismaintaining the celestial Internet network0 -
Good..at least we know what the problem is...........................................
I have no idea about Linux etc, I should learn I suppose. Either your hubby, who should know what he is doing as he installed this will fix it when he gets a mo, or some very clever Techie, which I am not will come along and sort this one out.:D
By the way, I would start a new thread titled....Linux, Kubuntu experts required and post a link to this thread......
Hope you get it sorted
I have nothing better to do!!!!

Hubby can't help .he is a celestial presence elsewhere.Sorry if you didn't pick up on my reference.
He has left mwith a fantastic legacy - a PC that defies explanation .
He used to work in Systems Management and ,supported some very complex machines .0
