S&S ISA to Cash ISA?

Hi

I currently have a S&S ISA, which I have had for 4/5 years, and am now conscious that I should probably do something with it to make the most out of it. So here some the questions as I am so confused and not financially savvy at all!...

Can I transfer it to a Cash ISA? And if so should I do this? Or should I transfer it to another S&S ISA? Or should I just leave it? Or should I split it?

Thanks :(

No you can't. You are allowed to transfer from a Cash ISA to S&S ISA but not the other way.

The answers to these questions depends on where it is now, what it's invested in now, what its value is now and what your objectives are for this investment.

Ok, thanks. Is it worth withdrawing the ISA and opening a new Cash ISA?

It is currently with Natwesst Investments Options ISA (from what I understand with my very limited knowledge and looking at my statements, Natwest invest it in Equities, Bonds, Cash & Equivalents (?), Gilts, Property - I may be completely wrong!) It's current value is £8209.14. I invested £7200.00 in 2008. I may use it in the future towards investing in a home (deposit).

    Many thanks :)

If you keep it there will be better options than a bank investment.

If you intend buying a home in the next 2/3 years you may well be better off in cash.
  • Thanks very much for your advice :)
