So in my previous thread regarding this issue, the yellow mucky stuff has come back, but is more lighter in colour then before in the pic shown below.

this was how it was first time round.

It was all cleaned out, oil changed and a new oil filter fitted in.

I'm struggling to work out what could be the cause? Headgasket? doubt it, looked at the dipstick and checked coolant levels, none of that mucky crap has mixed with it. Heater works fine..

Shall I do a 40 mile motorway journey or something to see if these clears up? Someone has suggested doing a flush, but that would mean, oil/oil filter change again. More ££££££, on a car that has nearly 97,000 on clock and hasn't had a cambelt change yet!

My car is a renault clio campus 1.1 apparently, the issue I am having is a regular issue with these cars.

this is normal if the car only does short trips.

I would have said head gasket as well just on the evidence of the photo but add in the miles done and the implication of short journeys might just mean the engine is not getting hot enough for long enough.
  • Probably due to car running cold, how long does it take from cold start till hot air comes out of car heater

  • Ever wonder why it was up for sale?

I guess the previous owner flushed it to sell.

My son has a Clio Campus 1.1, short journeys between home, work and his girlfriends and has exactly the same thing. Headgasket is fine and he's been told the oil breather pipe is probably blocked.

I agree...this, and short-journey syndrome [creating condensation inside engine]
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......

Been watching Wheeler Dealers? This is common on vehicles used for short journeys.

Thought you had £10,000 to spend on a new fast car?

This looks a little to extreme to just be a build up of condensation from short journeys. Definitely looks like a head gasket failure! Bad times,.
