I've resorted to accessing yahoo mail on my android phone by going in via the yahoo mobile website and clicking on the mail link at the top of the page. My user name appears on entering the first character and then I enter the password as usual.

Logging out option is at the bottom of the screen.

Can see where you are coming from OP, tablets tend to be shared in the family so it would be nice if the Yahoo! Mail app at least had an option to PIN protect it.

One should PIN protect Android phones too, only with Gingerbread 2.3 doing this is a right pain, every time you turn off the display to prevent accidental key presses, it requires the PIN again, a bummer if you use the phone as an MP3 player.

Neil, I'll see about your suggestion, just catching up on favs via laptop, thanks in advance.

Neil again. OK, so I have dumped the icon from the home page and searcher for yahoo log-in and signed is as per laptop, read emails and signed out. It take moments longer, but it is peace of mind. Thanks a lot.

I dont have emails set up on my phone but you could set up a screen lock on your device.

I have to put in a series of numbers if i want to use my phone for making calls/texts or using apps.

It also stops people making unauthorised calls on my phone if i lose it when i am out.
