Mobile phone contract rip-off.

hi everyone
this is a warning to anyone negotiating a contract with The Carphone Warehouse.

Also, any advice would be appreciated.

Last year my wife and I visited a Carphone Warehouse store to upgrade our handsets. (I have always been a CPW customer).

We were treated so appallingly by the salesman that we decided to terminate out contracts (the contract period having expired).

In order to retain out business, an individual in the CPW Loyalty Team offered me a very cheap deal, based on my getting a cash back deal of over £200. I was promised this would be paid "directly into my bank within 30-60 days".

No money has been paid into my Bank Account by Carphone Warehouse, while my repeated calls on the matter are met with various excuses. One such explanatio was that paying money directly into Bank Accounts was proving difficult, and I was proimised a cheque "within 28 days". I asked for written confirmation of this and was sent an email.

Over 6 weeks later, the money has still not arrived. Calls last week to CPW and they have changed their story AGAIN.

What am I to do qwith a company that is prepared to say ANYTHING to keep a customer, but does not follow through o it's promises?

Surely, if they have not honoured their side of the contract, it has been broken, andI should be free to leave rather than remain paying them MORE THAN THE TARIFF NEGOTIATED LAST YEAR??

Is there really NO advice for someone in my position? (above)

Should I try the small claims court?

It's hard to believe that not a single person here has anything to say on this matter in over three weeks.

    Frustratedly yours,

Apologies.. sometimes threads can just slip through the forums without people noticing! You best bet would be to write to their HQ requesting the money within 14 days, after which if you don't receive the money write again this time threatening legal action if non payment after a further 14 days.

Again if they have not met your demands by now then you can try the money claim site to get it through the small courts, once they receive the particulars hopefully they will give in if they haven't already
