Sorry I cannot provide any alternatives but most people wouldn't buy a "bog standard dell" to play games. Alienware might be a possibility.

Note:- I cannot find an XPS 8500 with a GTX660 AND Blu ray r/w. The latter only seems to come with 7770.

    E-Value Code: D00X8540

    i7 3770, 8GB RAM, GTX 660 1.5GB, Blu-ray combo, 32GB SSD + 2TB HDD.

i7 is overkill for most people, go for the i5 3570k and get a better graphics card, the main think the i7 has over the i5 is hyperthreading, which basically gives you more 'cores' which most people will not make the use of especially in games which tend to only use 1 or 2 cores still

True. But stupid Dell only have i7 3770

If you are gonna get an i7 3770 you might as well go the whole hog and get the 3770K processor, vastly better!
