    Thanks Nikky

Original budget showed debt reduction of circa £700 p.m. but may be able to reduce by £1,000 this month, then £800 p.m.

Redone budget & decided to reduce weekly shopping bill including reducing alcohol spend to virtually 0. This will also help efforts to improve fitness.

Changed Internet provider & managed to reduce monthly payment. Home insurance renewal date soon so hopefully can save something there.

Well here we are again another Monday.

    Plans for this week:
    1. Spend virtually £0 except for weekly shopping
    2. Run 3 or 4 times & try to do 20km (which is a lot for my knees)
    3. No alcohol midweek
    4. Look at more ways of reducing outgoings if possible

Been a good week so far. Haven't spent much except absolute necessities; been out running 3 times & had no alcohol since Friday.

CC payment off today so debt down a little - shall do the sums tomorrow.

Hoping for £1k debt reduction in April altho every month probably won't be as much as this.

Almost there with the £1k debt reduction target for April. Should hit the target next week with a CC payment due.

It would be nice if this could be achieved every month but that's probably not realistic at present.

Monday morning again. Just did the sums & have managed to get over the £1k debt reduction target for April. Looking ahead, May is a more expensive month with some minor family events planned so target is £750.

Due to tightening of belt & making a few minor savings on broadband, etc., DFD now reduced by 2 months, but hopefully this can reduce further as time goes on.

Hope you all have a good week.

    Thanks HiddenID.

Reducing alcohol & trying to keep fit certainly has helped me in my debt-busting journey. It's all too easy to bury head in the sand with debt & comfort eat the wrong things & drink too much wine to ease the pain, but that doesn't really work long term.

So I'm committed to healthier lifestyle whilst reducing debt. The 2 go hand-in-hand for me. So I get healthier & reduce debt. Win win situation for me.

1 month into my very long haul & it really seems much longer. joint goal of financial & health wellbeing has gone quite well. trying to stick to budgets has been the fundamental basis of trying to reduce debt.

Mortgage paid tomorrow so a big chunk of debt will be repaid but been a long weekend as I don't get paid til last day of month.

Targets for May: reduce debt by over £700, which is realistic; keep up the running altho it really can be so hard at times.
