where would you go for 3 nights/4 days

It was going to be venice but  at the prices quoted, £1,324 for 2 nights, £789 for 2 nights, £748 for 2 nights and £200 extra for breakfast:eek::eek:

The budget was £1,000 for 3 nights/4 days venice including spending money and some places charge 15 euros for a cocktail:eek: whenever I have rang lastminute or tripadvisor or lowcost holidays etc etc when I tell them the budget they just:rotfl::rotfl:

In laws are very excited to come down and look after youngest, all the arrangements made like that but cannot and will not increase budget, one friend mentioned that the ££ for just 2 nights away and flight no transfer some breakfast no lunches or dinners is the price of a week away to mallorca etc.

First weekend in May, we need to book somewhere, the bank holiday one , was supposed to be us two, romance, said about eurostar and paris but seen it done it no great desire to repeat.

So if anyone has some great hints/tips that months worth of googling has missed thank you, if not where can we go abroad (we are having UK in the summer en familie) sunshine, not too far away and within the laughable budget (so said lastnminute:eek:) gran canary? Torremolinos?

Early morning flights to make the most of the day there and late flights on return to make the most again:D

Worth thinking about Krakow - we had a wonderful time here. Easyjet flies there and you can get a train from the airport to the centre.

3 nights cost us £300 for the 2 of us..... And would highly recommend it, I'd go back in a heartbeat

Barcelona? Seville? If you look for smaller hotels and book direct you might get a better price.

You've picked an expensive weekend though, I'm afraid!

I've been to Venice & Rome for 3 nights and paid no where near £1k but we didn't go on the may bank holiday weekend! But we did go on the Easter bank holiday to Rome. I used BA holidays for both although Expedia came out similar.

If you could go one week earlier and take a day off work you would get the price down!

Where was £200 for breakfast? Our hotel in Venice included it. If it hasn't we would have gone out & bought it somewhere!

Or I saw James villas has 50% off for may but don't know what you'll find for that weekend. You can search tons of destinations on there.

I can get ryanair flights to Treviso for £300 for both of you, plus a booking in any of a number of hotels for another £300, leaving £400 for food, transfers and spending - sounds good to me?
ETA: that was from London Stansted
I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

I was told by lowcostholidays to fly into macro polo as its closest to venice and the transfers from Trevino would cost a tidy packet .

Thanks a million for the links though now having a look:D
