Are Contactless cards secure?

Straight to approved. Never seen it pre-auth a transaction when using contactless.
Some prepay cards are contactless. These need to auth. So do not think just because its contactless it does not auth.
Could be that these that do not require a PIN trans to reset go for auth every so often. Too many too quickly and they may decline. Which would see the card dumped by the non cardholder very quickly.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
Contactless works within 5 centimetres but I've found that the card has to be touching the terminal for it to work. If you're concerned about it being copied get a RFID blocking sleeve: I have a Koruma sleeve I bought on eBay which is cheaper and more durable than others.
The main problem with using contactless is you have to tell the checkout operator you want to use contactless. However I've found that the Tesco and Co-operative stores I've used automatically default to contactless.0
