New code for £50 off £200. Add something for a penny, go through Quidco/TCB for another 5% off and this 4GB 1TB PC is yours for a tad over £140 http://www.bargaincrazy.com/electrical/refurbished-computing/packard-bell-imedia-amd-e-series-processor-4gb-1tb-base-unit-1

Don't worry about refurb, it's just a return and will be effectively brand new with a 12 month g'tee
Thanks, I was pondering over this when you posted it yesterday.

I have an Acer T180 PC that I bought from Tesco instore a few years ago.
It runs Vista, is an AMD 64x2 4400+, 4GB. Not had any problems with it.

Not sure if the Packard bell would be any better (I assume so), but...

    Do I need/can I afford a new PC lol

Looks like if you donate £1.00 to charity, TCB will match it with 75p.

Good way to give to Great Ormond St Hospital, I feel.

Or the charity of your choice, they seem to have quite a selection.
Great Ormond Street is a fab choice for a charity, the times jade has been in there, Im thinking poor jade with her illness but the kids in there, so sad, theres always someone worse off than you, made many friends in there & kept in touch with a few, the staff are brilliant & they get actors & stars in to cheer the kids up....I would put a photo on here but dont know how to...xx

I wouldn't bother if it's less than 6 years old. 4GB is fine, Vista is fine and no doubt the processor is perfectly OK. (Having said that, Vista will be unsupported by Microsoft in future which is why you can't install Internet Explorer 10).

What you MIGHT have done :D (too late now, it's gone up in price) is upgrade to Windows 8 with the £25 upgrade offer, would have really speeded up your computer and you could easily download Classic Shell FOC to make it more user friendly - probably give you another few years of excellent computing. there was a lightning Windows 8 Amazon offer a day ago for £37, perhaps think about that next time?

XP Pro or older? Hmm, I'd be seriously thinking about upgrading.

Also - if you store useful stuff on the hard drive such as photos, be sure to make a back up copy somewhere else eg remote HDD (about £40 or so) as your computer could be getting a bit knackered by now.
