    Welcome.

The history of that Board is that it used to be part of the housing Board and then got split off, I think mainly because anyone who asked for advice on buying a house received a load of abuse along the lines of the greatest house price crash ever is coming, so no-one should ever buy (fuelled by an invasion of nutters from a now defunct forum called housepricecrash). So the debate threads were hived off, an attempt to keep the housing board clean. People do continually try to have sensible debates on the economy but get drowned out by the same people over again with their own agendas. The nice thread was meant to enable people to chat nicely about anything, only about a dozen regulars, but quite a homely place. An oasis of calm. Like this thread in its supportive nature, but unlike it in other ways.

it does sound interesting silvercar, I will Definately have a look.....whether me and TM decide to turn up will depend :)

Trying to submit end of year tax stuff and all I get is "server busy". Well obviously it will be busy today, you would think they would increase capacity!

Evening all - reporting in before sleep time

Got all our sorting out done today. Celebrant came and talked for ages to get details of Mam for service, ordered flowers, registered Mam's death and got certificates, took green form to undertakers, went to care home with chocolates and cards for carers/nurses who were so upset to see Mam go and several will be at her funeral next week which is lovely, and picked up Mam's things, then dropped my brother off and back home to sister's. Later tonight we sorted out Mam's things for charity shop and I have some of her clothes to take down to undertakers tomorrow to dress her in. We have sorted music and I have to let them know that tomorrow too. Mam is called Florence but has always gone by the name of Molly and her and Dad's song when they just had my brother, before my sister and I were born, so to play during service we chose My Blue Heaven in which they sing "and Molly and me, and baby makes three, I'm living in my blue heaven", and then, to play as we leave, a song my sister in particular used to get Mam to sing in the home "She'll be coming round the mountain when she comes". My sister once phoned me and held phone to Mam as Mam sang the first verse and chorus, word perfect, to me .... it was wonderful :j We still have to come up with a song for as we enter but for some reason they didn't accept my suggestion of the song I used to sing with her "How much is that doggie in the window" where she used to do all the "bow wows" at the right time :rotfl:

This thread can make for a sombre read.

    Logie, SD, Izzy65, 3Dogs.

Your posts bring a sharp reality to the thread.

    Finding peace with grief.

    I've stopped trying.

When it's there, no words can console the emotion.

You just have to let the tears flow.

My daughter would have been 13 last week.

When I go to lay flowers, I get a flash back of lowering her coffin the into grave.

Life can be tough as hell at times, but with good friends, dedication and effort, the better times are never to far away.

Have planned a £50 shop a S for tomorrow, after moc's hopefully should pay £30 and get back a £10 bm.

    Chin(s) up.

FC, it is lovely that your better half likes to cook from scratch, dont knock it ;)
I think it was 3dogs talking about the Celebrant coming round tomorrow. I have been seriously looking at my career lately, and people that are on night shift will know I went somewhere lately that touched me, and have been giving a lot of thought into becoming a celebrant, just such a big step, and its just doing the first that would be, for me, rather hard, but its still in the grey matter, getting considered.

Wonderful that you are considering this DM - good on ya' pet :T

Congratulation on new baby Florence, Ruxpin - lovely name ;)

What fab news for you rhosynbach, so glad that you can see your grandchildren again :j :j

I is off to sleep now so night night all
