One evening we should have a walk over to the debate thread and say hello:)
Silvercar and zagubov post. There is a thread for nice people ..... Like us.... But oh my goodness some of the debates that go on.......and we thought things were bad here when the Asda APG stuff was going on:eek:
Welcome.
The history of that Board is that it used to be part of the housing Board and then got split off, I think mainly because anyone who asked for advice on buying a house received a load of abuse along the lines of the greatest house price crash ever is coming, so no-one should ever buy (fuelled by an invasion of nutters from a now defunct forum called housepricecrash). So the debate threads were hived off, an attempt to keep the housing board clean. People do continually try to have sensible debates on the economy but get drowned out by the same people over again with their own agendas. The nice thread was meant to enable people to chat nicely about anything, only about a dozen regulars, but quite a homely place. An oasis of calm. Like this thread in its supportive nature, but unlike it in other ways.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Thanks for all the lovely comments on DD2's name, some gorgeous names been mentioned by you all too. Took me forever to decide on Florence and then Rose for her middle name came naturally with her being born on Valentines. DD1 is called Hetty (Henrietta when she's naughty;)).
I bought £50 of B&Q giftcards and the SA put them through with a £5 wys £40 and didn't even bat an eyelid!:D I was going to try to hide them with a bit of shopping but I was stressed out with phoncalls to the council while I was in there so thought I would just go for it...nothing to lose...and it paid off!!
My black bin has only been emptied once since 1st Feb, despite being put out as required on collection days. I'm at my wits end with the council, I've got 2 babies in nappies and it is getting beyond a joke! I ended up getting upset on the phone to them today, the lady I spoke to is going to ring the depot tomorrow and call me back. I'm not going to hold my breath! :mad:0
