    Need some advice.

Until recently I didn't freeze anything that I didn't buy frozen from a supermarket. It was an MSE step for me to freeze fresh stuff!

I've made a newbie mistake however and have kept some lovely 'Butchers Choice - Extra Lean Mince' over a month.

It's dated BB 13th Feb so it's coming up to the 2 months and was frozen on date of purchase.

Do I throw it out or are the guidelines ridiculous?

My mum says keep for up to 3 months, but she isn't always the best to talk to about this sort of thing..!

    Help appreciated!

your sausages will be fine! :DI kept some in mine for over a year and they have been just fine to eat!:)

The guidelines are ridiculous, but remember it's only a BB date which is nothing more than a recommendation. I work on the basis that it will still have the same amount of life left in it as it did when put in the freezer.

Modern day freezers combined with additive/preservatives added to many foods will protect them for a long long time, even fresh meat up to 12 months, fish 6 months etc.

    Eat and enjoy ;)
