Thanks, but just for a change I'm looking for the 'best' rather than 'best bargain' based on price:) I'll have a look though and perhaps I'll have more of an idea. I'd like a £10 bottle for a Fiver!:)0 -
OP, next time you pop to a French supermarket, have a look what the locals are buying. We usually spend less than 2 Euros a bottle and have never had a bad one yet!0

As far as i can remember people were discussing quality/ taste not simply price/ offers.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
This is one of my favourites, on offer at £4.99 at Morrisons instore/online at the moment

Faustino VII Rioja is worth looking out for when around £5.
Ocado have it at £5 per bottle now and Asda do it for £4.50'ish now and then.
Red, white and rose.

My husband loves Tesco Australian Red wine and always stocks up when it's 25% off.
He has tried lots of other 'expensive' reds, but always goes back to the Tesco Australian Red.
Works out at less than £3 a bottle and if you have a voucher it's even more of a bargain0 -

A wine expert friend tipped me the wink about Lidl's Baturrica Tarragona Gran Reserva which is £4.99 and gorgeous.

Continuing my exploration of the very cheapest Aldi wines (see post 9).
The Claret has gone up to £3.99 but still good value.
This week I tried the Australian White at £3.49 - abit sweet for me and won't buy again.
I also tried the Italian Red (Rosso by Castelloroe) at £2.99 which is OK and I shall buy again.
I'm finding it increasingly difficult to get cheap decent whites from Mr T or Aldi but plenty of reds.0
