parking eye notice

I received a parking charge notice from parking eye today! I was fuming as ive never had a ticket before and wasn't expecting this one. It is asking for £ 85 or £ 50 if I pay within 14 days!!
Not sure what to do! after reading posts from several people having had similar things happen to them.
The letter does show my car enter and leave and the times. However these times do not match up with the ticket I brought from the machine. I left the carpark before my time had expired on the ticket.
I don't have the ticket as proof, but I did have to enter my reg on the ticket machine.
I wasn't aware that I was timed from the moment I entered the carpark. I had to find a space then get my baby out into her pushchair, then brought my ticket.
How can they charge people when you've paid the parking fee????

It does appear that parking eye has issues, and it should be taken to popla, because they can't have it all ways, it's fair to assume that you leave within the 2 hours on the p&d ticket. So you can either appeal or ignore, that is the advice.
But parking eye do court occasionally, at least they send out claim forms hoping that nobody will defend it. If you want to defend it go with a soft appeal like this.
It's likely to be rejected, so the appeal to them would be a soft one like this, then get a harder appeal for popla
Name
Address
Date
Dear Parking Eye
I want to appeal your invoice xxxx at xxxx car park on the xx/xx/xxxx . Your pay and display machine issued me a ticket for 2 hours and i left within that timeframe. so the the terms were not broken. Obviously your anpr cameras are faulty and are not synchronised with the p&d machines.
I require that you cancel this invoice immediately. If you reject my appeal, I require a popla verification code within 35 days of the date of this appeal, per the BPA code of practice.
I have no further information to provide to you, so consider this my final response to you, I do not require a further 14 days to pay or give you further information.
Sincerely

thank you for that information. Im just so angry that they can do this to people. If I was at fault then no problem I would pay the fine, but I don't see why I should give them money I feel I don't owe!! I paid the parking fee that day. don't expect to be hit with a fine 10x the initial fee!
They have changed how the carpark operates. it used to be a barrier system. so people had to pay before they could leave.
The new system is just a money making scam in my opinion0 -
That's it exactly, a money making scam. But please be aware that its not a fine or penalty, it's just an invoice asking you to pay. If you go the appeal route go with the above to appeal to parking eye, but come back here for advice on popla, their link is below

IT IS NOT A FINE
You have an invoice, not an official fine, parking ticket, fixed penalty notice or police fine.
Basically it is an impersonation of a real parking fine and can be ignored.
Ignoring has worked hundreds of thousands of times.
I would suggest that is what you do, but download the bunny boiler letter chain so you can tick the letters off one by one.
Or you can waste many hours of your time appealing and appealing to POPLA a kangaroo court set up by parking scammers and run the risk of giving them a provable loss to take to court (POPLA fee) which they would get IMO.Be happy...;)0 -

No, please, you really wouldn't would you?
If so then you haven't read enough about PPC fake PCN scams. NO ONE should ever pay a private parking company ticket!

Wise up. Complain to the retailer, this isn't on is it? And appeal to PE and then come back for help to appeal and win at POPLA (do not just send a standard appeal when it comes to the POPLA stage as you need more in your appeal for that stage).
HTHPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

It's not a fine and they are not ANPR cameras, just ordinary cameras that show the time on them.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
