LDK Security Group parking charge

No haven't tried calling the number, I just looked at the parking charge notice/payment slip, it is the same number as the 24hr telephone payment line so I imagine it will be an automated service. I don't know if the sign is new, my daughter doesn't recall if it was there or not as she was in a panic as to what to do as she needed to be at an appointment.0

Thank you Stroma, Guy's dad and Nigelbb, I am becoming boggle eyed with reading rules & regulations on the BPA site! Guy's dad the link didn't work but I managed to find the info, thanks for letting me know about it. Nigelbb that seems like a good idea offering the £1 after all she was perfectly willing to pay it had she been able to, just a point though, have been to the car park today to check out the signage and note that the out of order machine is indeed still out of order 4 days later, on the machine a sign says "if this machine is out of order please ring 0845 3058 122" so how would we stand with this? LDK seem to be assuming that everyone will have access to a phone at the point they find the machine out of order, this will not always be the case.
This is easier than you seem to think.
Just appeal to the scammers as you have to do that before you can use POPLA. Send anything you like to the scammers as they will reject anyway.
Then we should be able to help you win this at POPLA, come back when you get the rejection from the scam company.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi Coupon-mad, thanks for your reply - I must admit it all seems more daunting the more I read up on it, if we're going to appeal at what point do you think we should do this, straight away or, as was suggested, wait until a letter is received? How should the appeal be submitted, by post or on their on-line appeal form? Should we send/offer the £1 parking fee?0

If you do it via snail mail ensure you get proof of postage, that doesn't mean recorded delivery. Enclose a cheque for a pound, and tell them if they cash it they accept the matter is closed. There is no right or wrong, I would send it straight away as they can say their costs have increased to get keeper details.
I wouldn't use their online form as there is no record of you contacting them, if you can find an email address for them use thatWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

Thanks, I think by post sounds best, I don't mind sending it by recorded delivery, it is less than £1 on top of stamp price, do I need to send the PC ticket with the appeal or hold onto it? I don't imagine they would cash the £1 cheque as I expect they will want to scare us into paying the invoice fee. Sorry for all the questions but I have never encountered this situation before.0

Ok, do you think I should send a photo of the machine with the "out of order" sign on?0

It won't harm, but save that for popla if you need to go there. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

Not recorded delivery. Just by post.
Stop making this into something difficult and daunting when you just need to post a random letter to get a rejection, that's all. Please stop wasting your Easter Holiday over this minor scam - it's nothing and they are not worth the cost of a recorded delivery letter let alone you getting worried about it all.PRIVATE 'PCN'?
