07744 97 4404 (on orange)

need to phone the other half while she is away in turkey for a few days. this service claims to have the calls charged as a normal number and therefore taken from my included minutes, but is there a way to check this before calling? been checking the orange website for details on charges to certain numbers but cant see anything......surely they must detail what they charge for what numbers? if anyone could shed any light before i risk running up a big phone bill?

sorry - should have made it clearer ;)

the number is for a service from simply-fone. you dial it then put a 'p' then your overseas number. and as its a 'uk' number you get charged out of your inclusive minutes, but there just seems to be a bit of confusion over if its definately included in your minutes or not. so was wondering if there was a page on the orange site that detailed prices for different numbers to confirm its included as an ordinary number or classed as a special number and therefore charged outside your inclusive minutes...

    cheers!

Orange definitely do include 07744/07755 calls in their inclusive x-net minutes at the moment . The service will only work if you are calling an intl number, its no good if your calling a UK Mobile overseas.

Get your OH to get a local sim and then use the number above to call her from orange!

What ever you do, don't call orange asking if they'll charge this number as if they start to know that its an access number then they'll start charging it like recently T-Mob and O2 have started due to lack of appropriate knowledge and not doing enough research before hand.

Don't mean to be rude but it will be a cause to an end to all those who use these numbers to call int. number free or cheaply at the cost of using the inclusive minutes!

cool - had no intention of phoning orange ;)

well - spent an hour on the phone last night (called her hotel room), all very good quality and fast connection. if it was out of my included minutes i will be most impressed! i logged onto my orange online account this morning to check if my remaining minutes had gone down but it has not updated from yesterday morning yet. thanks for your advice though was nice to chat with no real time restriction...

am sure it is included as people have confirmed but when my online account gets updated i will post to 100% confirm that the call came out of my minutes. still surprised that nowhere online does it state what you get charged for what numbers. kinda leaves it open for providers to charge what they want? and would orange have to officially announce that this number was going to change classification if they did change it? would this have to be sent in a bill?

definately coming out of included minutes -

Yes we are aware of that, hence the the reason why MSE Martin recommends the use of 07744 numbers in his article.;)
