If the bath is on a stud wall, you could cut a hole from the other side with a pad saw & then make good afterwards. I have done this before& it was quite easy.

Just noticed its on a outside wall...never mind.
  • Suprised this is still going on.
This is from someone who can actually do the job.
Southcoast has tried to tell you and talks sense.
I can change taps like this because I have a custom made 30inch Armeg Jaw Dropper Tap Wrench set.
This is like the one in this link but 3 times longer.

I do use my Armeg on occasion (really should use it more rather than the extending spring loaded one i normally use) but fair play to you for getting a custom version, I know who to come to if I have a customer with a similiar problem ;)
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

Having dealt with this shape of bath before I can say its going to be very difficult to access the backnuts properly from underneath although CH is correct in saying that it can be done but not with this one I suspect. In particular there is absolutely zero room to get round the end of it which is another alternative (by lots of wiggling) if the base of the bath is low.

The bath doesn't have to come all the way out though if it is necessary to move it. It only needs to slide out by a max of three inches. Then you can get your arm down and use the appropriate tool on the backnut. It looks as though there is room to do that without having to remove the loo cistern.

    Cheers

  • Just have a toolmaker friend who owes a favour.
He made mine with a sleeve so I can reduce or extend the length.

The bath might have the small 'L' shape bracket to fix it to the wall along the back edge.

Looks like it's tied in with tiles at the front both sides?

Go on take the panel off...... you know you want to.

Revisiting this to show what I found when the bath panel was removed. As you can see, there is indeed no way to change the taps without removing the bath.

I decided to change the bath, sink and toilet while we were at it.

Looks like the taps around the back bath designs are just pants.
