I don't know what to say. I've worked from home for nearly 15 years and have never had a problem with dust and I don't mean that I just put up with it.

I have my work PC with two 24" monitors, a laser printer and other paraphernalia. Then there's my own iMac and colour laser printer/scanner, my laptop, tablet etc. Several book cases, music system and home music server for the other rooms.

I have a cleaner who comes in once a week to muck me out and the place never seems to get untidy let alone dusty.
One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.

vac the carpets, wipe the surfaces, and once a year, open up the pc, and blow out the dust.

Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a free standing home dust extractor or something?
I would like something that I could put in this room that would clean up the dust.

I use Mrs Bob the saver but she does need a sit down sometimes.

Hoovering and polishing on regular basis amongst IT equipment is not an easy task.

The problem was highlighted yesterday when I returned after three weeks holiday and the fan on one of the PCs was making a noise. Turned out it was clogged by dust and this happened in a room that had not been disturbed for three weeks.

If its just the computer, ideally it needs filters over the intake fans, assuming your pc has intake fans, if not put some in.
You can then just hoover the filter every few weeks.

Every PC case I've bought for a while now has filtered intakes and it reduces the amount of dust in the machine by loads.

If you've got a dust problem after 3 weeks it's not your computer that needs looking into, it's your house.
