I work from home and I have an office with two PCs, a laptop, a printer/scanner, mdem, speakers, etc. The dust level in this room are really getting out of hand. Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a free standing home dust extractor or air filter or something?
I would like something that I could put in this room that would circulate the air through it and clean up the dust.

We have one (the biggest of the ones shown) to deal with pet 'dander' and it works a treat. A bit noisy though. Very surprising just how much airborne crud the filter takes out.0 -

People mostly.
You loose nearly a million skin cells a day from natural shedding...
Vacuuming every day is really the only way. Ideally if you don't have a cluttered layout and some hardwood floors so you can have a Roomba or similar.
I've tried air filters but don't really make a dent, plus they get clogged up eventually.0 -
Surely, a quick hoover every day or other day and polish will keep the levels down.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0

Hoovering and polishing on regular basis amongst IT equipment is not an easy task.
The problem was highlighted yesterday when I returned after three weeks holiday and the fan on one of the PCs was making a noise. Turned out it was clogged by dust and this happened in a room that had not been disturbed for three weeks."Some folks are wise and some are otherwise." - Tobias Smollett0 -
You actually checked it before going away. More likely to have accumulated over a few months on a fan, for it have started to make a noise.
Have worked in an office above industrial newspaper printers, where paper dust is a nightmare, the fans on them took forever to gather a serious amount of dust.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -
So no recommendations then?"Some folks are wise and some are otherwise." - Tobias Smollett0

I have the 'ultra quiet' one of these, makes a noticeable difference.
