So I needed to get some new tyres for my car. The two on the front.
They were expensive and because I am ill, I cannot work so have a very low income. So I decided to buy some part worn tyres for £45 each. Pirreli ones.
I noticed that there is a slight noise, like an osilating Woop, Woop from the left front. Took a look and there is a small nick out of the side wall of that tyre. Wasnt pointed out to me when i bought them, so dont know if its ok or not.
I'd post a link to a photo but im not allowed yet

Describe the nick or use something like flikr and we'll put the link in for you.0

No it is not Ok, do not drive on it and put the spare on.
At motorway speeds the side wall bends and changes shape 12 times a second.
A sidewall blow out will shred the tyre instantly, very dangerous indeed.Be happy...;)0 -

You can't possibly say that without seeing the damage.0 -

Ok, looking at those it's borderline.
It looks as if it may have just reahed the cord in the one where you're holding the flap open. That in itself doesn't make it dangerous as long as the cord isn't damaged, but it will lead to damage over time because damp & salt etc will be able to get into the reinforcement.
Theres also the question of how the damage occurred - it looks like a very localised impact by something which is quite likely to have caused damage to the carcass which may not be visible immediately.
You'd be best getting a local tyre place to have a look because it's hard to say for sure from the photo - definitely worth getting it checked though!0 -
By the look of your alloys, it may not have been there when you bought the tyres.0

What have the fitters said?
How long ago did you get them fitted?0 -

I can see why you think that, but no that's not the case. The tyres were bought yesterday and my wife hasn't driven the car yet
The tyre fitters didnt say anything about it. I only just noticed it when i looked following the noise i got0 -
if they have only been on for a day i'd be on the phone to the fitter and ask for a replacement tbhThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Same here.
Phone them as soon as possible - the longer you will leave it, the greater the likelihood of them thinking it happen after being fitted.
If they recorded the vehicle mileage on the invoice or anything then this could work to your advantage.0
