Travel Agent or Airline

In 2010 we had a package holiday to Kenya booked via Thomas Cook. The airline was Monarch although they later suggested it was Air Med. The outbound flight was delayed by over 26 hours and resulted in a stop over in Luxor. The return flight was delayed by over 4 hours. At the time I attempted to obtain compensation from Thomas Cook but after numerous letters (many of which I now can not find) gave up somewhat frustrated.
In light of the new ruling do I now contact Thomas Cook to try again or Monarch airlines directly or both? Any advice from those who are attempting similar would be very much appreciated.
Many thanks

As per the FAQs, all claims should be made direct with the airline - do you have the flight number?0

Yes I have both flight numbers and details of the delays by no booking cards, tickets etc0
