littlewoods, watch out!

it seems littlewoods don't like to stick to their offers!
I purchased a Samsung tablet on 19.11.12 using the buy now pay later option which gives you 25% cash back (code 27ZG5) I will also add that the tablet cost £1250.
the cash back never arrived so I emailed. I had a simple reply that the cash back would be added on 9.3.13. well it still didn't turn up on said date.
after emailing again I was told this time that my order didn't count for this deal! I protested and my email was forwarded to a 'specialist team' I received an email this morning saying:
the offer code 2Z7G5 was only available during 29.11.12 - 23.12.12. your order was placed on 19.11.12. therefore it does not qualify for this deal.
im thinking, this is not right. I only took the buy now pay later option to get the cash back. so I searched their website and found this.
littlewoods.com/images/2012/popups/11/tech-cashback.html
clearly states on this page that the offer ran from 8.11.12 -
29.11.12. so my order was made on 19.11.12 when the offer was on with the code.
I will keep fighting it but I wonder how many other people have lost out on this.
shame on littlewoods.

Well, they are wrong etcetera but - what possessed you to shop there for electronics in the first place? Why not just purchase the tablet from the countless other shops that don't add the mark-up to the normal price? What is the advantage of risking the rigmarole?0
-
£1250 ... is that a typo? Or are you talking about one of these new tablet/laptop/flip devices?0
-
The only Samsung tablet I an think of that costs that much is the ATIV, but even then that's around the £950 mark0
-
Samsung XE700T1C-A03UK very hi spec tablet its around the £950 mark but with the 25% cash back it makes it 937 so actually works out cheaper than other shops. but the point is littlewoods are in the wrong and trying to get out of giving me my cash back!0

Ok heres the message I just received. seriously who are these people, they are talking about an offer for mobile phones and imaging! they don't even know their own offers??? can they not see that one offer ended and another one started? do they not realise that a Samsung tablet is tech not a mobile phone or imaging!
cant seem to get any sense. if they don't figure it out this time ill be off to trading standards.
the littlewoods rep who commented on this post must be a little embarrassed.
Dear Mr Marshall,
Thank you for your email regarding your ongoing query.
I have reviewed all correspondence between my colleagues and your self.
I have been able to view your order made on line 19.11.12 using 2C9VG17 which you advise was to re-numerate you with 20% Cash Back. I have checked our archives and found an offer for 20% 29th November to 23rd December 2012.
Terms & Conditions:
20% cash back on selected Mobiles and Imaging
20% cash back offer
*This is a Buy Now Pay Later promotion. This Buy Now Pay Later offer is only available when purchasing selected Mobiles and Imaging products above £249 between 29.11.12 – 23.12.12. This is an online only offer. The 20% cash back will appear on your account within 45 days from the end date of the promotion or the despatch date, which ever is later. If the item purchased is returned the cash back will be reversed and the monies deducted from your account. For Buy Now Pay Later, Quote 27ZG5.
Buy Now Pay later
This Buy Now Pay Later is subject to the stated minimum cash order value, account status and is only available with interest bearing terms. Interest will be calculated for the deferred payment period plus the repayment period. You can avoid any interest by contacting us and paying the cash price in full before the end of the deferred payment period.
Please note the Buy Now Pay Later option must be added to your order in the ‘Payment Options’ screen within the checkout and you must choose a payment period of 104 or 156 weeks. This means that at the end of the payment free period (Buy Now Pay Later period), any outstanding balance from this order will be paid over the payment period chosen, 104 or 156 weeks
You will note the order date is outside of the offer date.
However I have sent an e-mail to our Financial Services Department for a final decision to ensure we are endeavouring to give you every opportunity to receive the recompense you feel is valid.
I apologise for the delay this will cause you whilst we wait for a response from the relevant department.
Kind Regards
Linda Brandwood

You should remember that the people you buy off are not the people you owe the money too.
I found this out when we took a case to the FOS.
There is 1 Littlewoods Company that you buy the goods from.
And another Littlewoods Company that provides the finance.
So when you complaint naturally you end up complaining to the finance Littelwoods Company, however the price or offer isn't down to them but the first Littlewoods Company that sold you the junk!
Our case went all the way and in the end they agreed to fix the issue because as you know both Companies are part of the same group. BUT they would not be oblidged to because they are completely seperate in accordance with FSA.
ALSO NOTE - They never budge on their decisions, they are a horrible nasty Company. I avoid them at all cost, and yes cost is probably the right word!0
