I'm only getting a speed of 0.2 mB. O2 say I've been capped due to exceeding broadband limit, but they weren't too sure and can't check until another department opens at 9am.

However, I've just checked via my log in on the site it says.
You're well within your monthly usage limit for your current billing month.
It's long since time I changed to BT infinity since my best speed is only 2mb anyway.

Am I correct in thinking changes can be carried out within a few weeks if I ask for a mac code?

Does anyone know how O2 billing dates are related to how long your actually paid up to? The helpline seems to think I'm billed on the 5th of the month but my new cycle starts on the 15th, but he is giving confused messages.

Do we pay O2 in advance or behind?

I guess a lot of ISPs get free money due to customers paying two providers during the overlap period.

You pay O2 in advance but they do refund you the part month if you switch to another ISP.
We switched for O2 to bt infinity a few weeks ago. Asked for the mac. Received the next day, signed up to bt which installed infinity the following week.

Thank's that's useful, just been on the helpline with O2 for half a hour testing various channels. No luck. They are sending me another router in case it is that.

Did you just change your broadband or landline phone provider to BT as well? What sort of was the overall price and speed improvement did you get?

We were with bt for phone anyway. Speed up from 12 to 70 down. Upload from 1 to 18 mbit/s.
About £22 a month plus line rental for anytime calls and broadband.
