Just thought I'd mention, I'm currently with Powergen for both gas & electric in a house I recently moved into. Sadly I've found their customer service is awful.
I telephoned them to ask some simple questions and they have just make mistake after mistake...I've been forced to complain in writing twice and got no reply. Lower prices are one thing but I'll be switching to another supplier just to get away from them; cheaper or not!Debt 2007 £17k
Current Debt approx £7.5k
Target - to pay off all debts by 2020 :A0 -
Well Powergen is just getting worse. The meter readings I supplied them with months ago just before the transfer they managed to get wrong. I rang the call centre to give them the details and double checked he had right numbers. Then just to be sure input them on line. Somehow they managed to give B Gas the wrong readings for both Gas and Elec  B. Gas sent me a cheque for £170+ for gas overpayment (there wasn't any they had given too low a reading) and a bill for £90 for outstanding Elec (there wasn't any as they gave too high a reading). Powergen have failed to respond to my correspondence and I can't face the dreaded call centre.
I have now asked them how much notice I need to give to move from Powergen. Worse move I ever made.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

Well thats decided it for me.
I too was thinking about changing to powergen from British Gas but can certainly do without all the hassle ive been reading about on this thread.
I pay £25 for electric and £41 DD for gas which seems a lot but then all my heating and all my cookong facilities are gas.
Looks like I may be staying put after all.Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600 -

i agree
am now into 9 months of phone calls of trying to sort out Gas supply , all down to a series of errors of their dreadful, dreadful Indian call centre, i have refused to deal with them as past a certain point they just dont understand . :wall:
anyway now dealing with nottingham and today they basically told me i was a liar as the numbers dont add up.
Thing is the original reading was emailed to them ( for both elec and gas) but they say they never received it and i changed IP before all this occured ( so no copy email ) - weird thing is the elec tranfer went fine ( using my emailed figure - as ive only ever given them one number ).
Am now talking to Ombudsmam and Daily Mail as intotal this year i have spent over 6 hrs on the phone trying to resolve this issue.
i now advise people to avoid Powergen like the plague.0
