Vodafone poor coverage - no free sure signal!

Hi,

So, took out a new SIM only deal with vodafone. Coverage at work is ok but no coverage at home (tbh none of the networks work that well at home! Just about enough coverage on EE to make a call)

Rang today to cancel under 7 day DSR (bought online) and suggested that if they provided a sure signal free of charge that I could be persuaded to stay. The lady said we can't do that but the store can.

So off I toddled to the store and they said nope, no discounts on sure signals.

Rang back and spoke to a guy on the phone who said that all discounts on sure signals have been prohibited by head office.

So, my question: is this correct? Are they no longer offering a free sure signal to get people to stay? I think I've got a good deal but don't really want to pay out a further £100 to get a signal at home. Does anyone have recent experience of getting a sure signal out of vodafone for free?

It hardly makes any financial sense to give free expensive devices to new sim-only customers.

Also, their returns police can be more generous than DSR, but AFAIK you've lost DRS protection as soon as you started using the services.

12 month contract at £20.50 per month, I'd say I was quite a profitable customer for them.

Nope, 7 day cooling off period, not invalidated by using the SIM.

I know it's not what you want to hear ... Pick one up on eBay.

Yeah, last resort I suppose. I do begrudge spending money to help vodafone patch up their network though.

Profitable - if they don't give you a free booster. Have you not said that it was a 'good deal'?

This is correct for goods, not for services.

I'm not going by any statutory requirements, I'm going by the t&c of the contract that I have agreed to. The contract says I can cancel within the first 7 days.

Did you get £150 cashback with that?

    Hi madgagoo,

Thanks for making me aware of this.

To enable us to help you further I'd initially recommend following the guidance in the Network troubleshooting thread which can be found in the Network section of our eForum. Unfortunately, I'm unable to link you to it directly due to the posting guidelines which company representatives are obliged to follow.

In regard to Sure Signals I'm afraid our policy is to no longer provide these free of charge.

    Hi B19JON,

To enable me to get your concerns looked into could you email me with your details via the link in our profile here?

All you need to do is copy and paste the link into your web browser and it will take you to the Contact us form on our website.

To ensure that it reaches me could you also quote the code WRT135 - MSE in the subject line and once our automated reply arrives update the thread with your email reference number and I'll get back to you as soon as possible?

    Kind regards,

    Lee
