Just had a letter from Amex saying a £25 yearly fee will apply from now on.
So shops grumble when you use Amex, many din't even take it, and now they want to charge £25 a year for the pleasure?
Bye bye Amex, off to find a better credit card provider!

Its hardly a fee considering the fact you can make it back in one Foursquare offer.0 -
"We are introducing an annual membership fee of £25 on your Nectar Credit Card"
It's definitely a fee.0 -

No, I understand that. My point was that you can make it back in one Foursquare offer.0 -
The problem is, when the Foursquare offers end, the fee will remain. I don't want to be jumping through hoops to negate their fees.
The Amex BA Air Miles card will be my new card, there is currently no fee associated with it.0 -

If your getting a new Amex cc don't cancel the old one until you get your new one. You will be able to transfer the credit limit from your nectar.0 -
There should be an option to switch to a no-fee version of the Nectar Amex?0

Thanks for the heads up re the credit limit transfer0

I have had the Nectar Amex CC since 2011 and so far haven't been advised of an annual fee.
Were you notified by letter or as a message in your latest bill?
If the annual fee applies then I shall no doubt be closing my account.0 -
I don't really understand everyone's problem with the fees. If you don't want to pay them, then that's fine, close the account. But the fact remains that Amex offer probably the best credit card products on the market - assuming you take full advantage of the benefits - and their customer service has always been fantastic whenever I've had to deal with them.
I don't mind paying fees for good products and to be honest I expect fees for CCs will become more and more common in the future.0
