  • I spoke to the external rep who is saying no to a facilitated meeting as they would only be there to support and "hand hold" and it would not be very likely to achieve the outcome we want.

Does anyone have any more advice whilst I wait for the next move from HR?

What has your external rep told you to do?

    Follow that.

Thanks - they haven't said yet, just no to a facilitated meeting as above.

I would like to try and get some suggestions ready for when they come back and ask me.

I know its been a frustrating thing for you... You need to really get your external rep guiding you.

As has previously been mentioned - you need to work out what it is you want.. If you want a pay off to move on with your life or do you want to stay where you are and just have nothing further to do with your Manager etc.

I dont see how you can expect people to know the answer - it sounds like you are finally getting guidance now so why not let this take is natural course.

It's hard work and takes forever, at least it feels that way at times :) (I know they are v busy).

I want to go back to my job, not sure what the natural course would be, thanks for your responses, guess I just need to keep on keeping on!

External Rep is friends with person I am currently assigned to work with as my line manager and that person is a union rep representing my new manager.

This is prejudicing how my case is being handled.

External Rep has now set up a meeting with me, hr and new manager, with both union reps attending, surely this is a conflict of interest and managers are not entitled to union representation anyway !

Not to mention the person representing new manager has been going out of their way to try and discredit me by abusing their position as my line manager, as above.

Please does anyone have any advice on how to proceed?

I have raised a grievance but they are refusing to deal with this formally, supposedly the above meeting is being arranged to deal informally with my grievance about not yet being allowed to return to my post for no valid reason and the attempted victimisation following raising a grievance.

External union rep is threatening to withdraw support if I do not follow their "advice" .. no great loss there !
  • Update...

Well, my Grievance was upheld six weeks ago now and I was told I can return to my post, however arrangements about how the details of how and when this would happen were handed back to the Big Boss and guess what?

    There's a catch...

The "informal recommendation" highlights of this is going to involve lots and lots of humiliating re-induction over about six weeks (longer than when I first started the job), where I have to be paraded round different departments like the new person, oh and write a short essay about what happened, how it is my fault, and how I will do better in the future, "to show you have learned a lesson". I am going to be allocated a personal supervisor too. Hhhmmm.

I feel I am simply being set up for round two of more bullying and harassment. The circumstances which lead to this are beyond my control but if I say that then I am not "learning a lesson". Jeez.

As I was already at the end of my tether with this months ago, and the union are being spectacularly useless about it and refusing to deal with it properly all along, which has resulted in me finally being signed of work now as my health can't take any more, does anyone have any suggestions of what to do next?

I requested a next stage Grievance meeting over a week ago but have not heard anything as yet.

    Please can anyone help? :(

As you are unable to be specific, afraid it is impossible to give you advice. It's not us being unhelpful, it simply is the way it is.

I am not sure what details are needed? Maybe you could give me some idea?

A vindictive "Manager" at work is trying to bully and harass me out of my job, via a trumped up "disciplinary" which has involved being suspended for a year with no actual disciplinary or therefore right of appeal, so you would think that is quite formal but no all we have is informal recommendations which are being made up as we go along and address nothing. Oh and refusal to attend mediation and refusal to deal with a grievance from the management. This formal process was launched into on my return from leave last year, with no prior indication or warning, and here we are.

Union rep has been totally useless and is part of the problem, now telling me if I don't write this essay about how it was all my fault and I have now learned my lesson, that would be refusing a management instruction. I thought to be lawful, they had to be reasonable?!

Although my grievance was upheld, to drop the suspension and for me to return to my post, the vindictive manager gets to decide how many hoops and how high before this actually happens.

I have written to HR to say take the grievance to next stage over a week ago, no response, union rep is saying no to a meeting at the moment and told me to get signed off for a few months and we would look at it then.

    Soul destroying :(
