Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

i know!! they have addressed it to me , and refer to me owing £189.99 etc , no mention of grandma anywhere!
what annoys me most , is i started a running account with them fresh in my name starting from the meter reading given to close grandmas account!!!Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0 -
Dan - I'm sorry for your loss.
I know you are angry @ BGas, I have been recently also. But why didn't you settle all outstanding bills prior to grant of probate, that is what I have done?Love generously, praise loudly, live fully

Part of the process is dealing with mail from computers and taking too many iterations to wrap things up. There is no need to invest any emotional response in the mails. You should be laughing and sighing with exasperation - giving a momentary break from your grief - rather than interpreting it as insensitive or hurtful.
You must have experienced every organisation nowadays on their first point of contact their form letters end with paragraphs of offensive threats.0 -

Whoa - settling debts before you have a full account of everything the estate owes? Aside from the funeral, no debt should be settled and no bequest handed out until you have a full list of all monies owed (including the ad in the London Gazette).
Creditors can wait until you have the full picture. They might not like it, but they don't get much choice.
If the estate is insolvent and you have paid some creditors in full then you (as the personal representative) are liable for your mistakes.0 -

Write letters and send a copy of the death certificate, don't rely on inexperienced telephone operatives.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

British Gas begin chasing for payment 4 weeks after you report the death.
Or that was my experience. I received 2 red bills from them as GOR hadn't yet come through.
Had another phone call today asking which name to transfer the bill into. She's ringing again in another 4 weeks when the house sale will have completed.
BG bereavement dept aren't the easiest to deal with I found.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?
