Phones 4u Offering Inferior Handset Exchange
Options
Hi everyone.
Back in September 2012 I renewed my long-standing Vodafone contract with Phones 4u (I always went through Vodafone direct until then) and got a shiny new HTC One X for my trouble. A few months later it started playing up (dead areas on the screen and other symptoms) so I sent it off to Phones 4u for repair. They sent it back a couple of weeks later saying 'no fault found'. I have since sent it off to HTC twice with the same results. I finally rang Phones 4u and they agreed to replace the handset last week so I sent it back to them.
Tonight they rang me up to tell me that they didn't have any HTC One X's left in stock and that I could choose between two alternative handsets; The Samsung Galaxy SII and the Sony Ericsson Xperia S. In my view these are both inferior handsets to the One X.
Now, I probably sound like a fussy old git but I always do rather a lot of research before I commit to a new phone for the next 2 years and the HTC One X seemed like a good fit for me when I bought it.
I'm not sure what my rights are at this point and I'm not particularly happy about being fobbed off with an older phone. Some advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

If it's obviously inferior, demand the same or superior or the market value and buy yourself.0

Had a look at the phones4u site, the closest equivalent is the
HTC One X Plus, I would demand that.0
